Post, The First

Hi, my name is Leigh Ervine.  I am a geek and a nerd.  I am also the father of two geek/nerds-in-training.  Over the past few years I have seen the emergence of what is called Nerd Culture or Geek Culture.  I applaud these coming into the mainstream.  And I would like to add to it, help others add to it, and try to explain things to those that have no clue (myself included).

What I want to do with this blog:

• Highlight the efforts of nerds and geeks in West Virginia
• Promote geeky and nerdy events, meetups, and cons in West Virginia
• Talk about geeky and nerdy stuff (not just robots!)
• Make this a blog where ideas can be freely and safely discussed.
• Post about once or twice a week.

To do this, I will need your help!  Send me your ideas, topics, and suggestions.  If I don't know about it, I will try to learn it quick.  I don't know everything and would like to learn more.  If you have information about events, meetups and cons in WV, let me know or at least point me in the right direction.

In the coming posts, I will be writing about robots, local cons, and other cool stuff.
